firedragon1919-the first step in making game is to make a character u can draw it yourself or open a file and pick an animal or anything u can add c loughs to the sprite a sprite is a thing in your game that you can move or control to make a sprite your draw it or open a file and pick a creature or anything you can control a sprite by using scripts to make them move or jump a scripts are how you make the sprites move around then you can make a background for your game and then you can draw your own background or open a file and and pick a background from one of the files to make more than one background you can copy it and then edit it in my game im going to make each level harder to pass i will make more obstacles to get through thats how i will make my game
To make a game on scratch you need to open up scratch first! When you open it up it will just be a cat sprite. A 'Sprite' is the character in your game. You can edit the characters costume by click 'costumes' in the left hand side and pressing 'edit' you can paint on it or import a new character. There is also 'backgrounds' where you can change the background for different levels'. There are also options for the game that's the script. The opinions you can use for your game are motion,looks,sound,variables,pen,control,sensing and operator. The script is the things you are doing in your game. If you press 'file' 'open' 'examples' and then 'games' you can pick a game and you will get the game already made with all the coding. Or you can make your own game. 'Coding' is technically your options. If you press move 10 steps and press the green flag the game will start. If you press the red button which is right next to the green flag. It will start the game. If you press the red button then the green flag,the game will restart. Okay. If you go to 'import sprite' you can make a new sprite. -Bluemoon1919

First you go onto scratch.Then i would click on my sprite which is the cat character when you first open up scratch then i would change him by going to costumes and clicking edit on him then i would hit import and choose a category for what i want my sprite to be.Now i will click stage and that is my background, i would click on costumes for that hit edit and then i would choose from the category i want my background to be.Next i would start with my sprite which once again is your character i would use for my game. I would go to script and then controls then i would figure out what i want my character to do.EXAMPLE: i would go to motion make my character move 6 steps over then i would make it turn 15 degrees and take another 6 steps. ( Script shows the motion in which either your sprite, or stage is going.)[BUGTHREE1919]
to make a game you need to open scratch. you can download it for free on your computer, or it would already be on your school PC. the icon is a cat sprite. first, you would have to click on file in the top left corner. click on open, then click on the examples button on the left. after that, click on the games button, and click on the last button on the bottom called "scrolling demo". it will then open a game that you can modify. the game will pop up and you will see a player that looks like a potato. if you look to the left you will see a bunch of things that look like buttons, this is called a script. a script is a computer coding that you can put together to create your game.

I would suggest you modify a game instead, it's much easier. You control a line that the ball can bounce off of and underneath where the line can move only side to side.

Script is a way for scratch to read what you are telling it to do. Now if you want you can change the sprite. A sprite is the Character in scratch that you use for the game. Now we can change the background. The background is what you see and the sprite is whats on it. Now the game i have is a edit on Bug on a plate, what I did I made it two player and gets harder ever time you collect a peice of fruit
